Window Tinting in Clayton, NC

Premium ceramic and carbon films, precision computer-cut and installed by a certified technician. Real heat rejection — no purple fade, no signal interference, lifetime warranty.

Cheap dyed tint fades purple, bubbles, and traps heat. The ceramic and carbon window film I install at MAC Details in Clayton, NC does the opposite: it rejects serious heat, blocks 99% of UV, holds its true color for the life of the film, and carries a lifetime warranty. Every install is precision computer-cut and applied by a certified technician — and it pairs perfectly with a ceramic coating for complete protection.

Window Tint Removal — $150

Safe removal of old, bubbling, peeling, or purple film, with full adhesive and residue cleanup and a defroster-safe process for rear glass. Leaves clear, clean glass ready for new film. Estimated time: 30 minutes – 1.5 hours depending on condition.

NC Tint Law

  • Front side windows: must allow at least 35% VLT (law sets 35%, with a 3% meter variance — installers aim for the 32–35% zone for the darkest legal look).
  • Sedans: rear side windows and rear glass also need 35% VLT.
  • SUVs, trucks, vans & minivans: front sides still 35%, but rear side windows and rear glass can be any darkness.
  • Windshield: non-reflective film only, above the manufacturer's AS-1 line or the top 5 inches.
  • No red, amber, or yellow tint; max 20% reflectivity; dual side mirrors required if the rear window is tinted.

2025 update: As of December 1, 2025, NC removed the tint check from the annual safety inspection (and dropped the $10 fee) — but the darkness limits are unchanged and still enforced roadside. Going legal still matters.
